If you are a woman between 15 and 55 years old, and it has been more than 10 days since your menstrual period, arrange for pregnancy testing. If you are claustrophobic, ask your physician for sedative. |

Follow a low-carbohydrate / low-sugar diet today. Do not eat for 6 hours prior to PET-CT tomorrow. |
🕒 1 day before, 8 pm |
For 6 hours prior to PET-CT, do not eat or chew gum. Drink only water. If diabetic, do not take morning insulin. PET-CT is scheduled tomorrow at 10 am at 100 Main Street Radiology. |
🕓 60 minutes before |
You are scheduled for PET-CT at 10 am at 100 Main Street Radiology. Arrive promptly due to rapid radio-tracer expiration. Appointment duration is approximately 90 minutes. |
🕔 0 minutes before |
Do not wear metallic jewelry, coins or electronics during the scan. Drink water. Use restroom to empty your urinary bladder approximately 45 minutes after injection. |
🕕 90 minutes after |
Unless you have a medical reason to restrict fluid intake or another procedure that requires fasting: keep hydrated, and empty your urinary bladder frequently for the next 4 hours, and you may eat normally. PET-CT results will be available to your physician within 2 business days. |
